Mercury-Free Fillings

Amalgams, also known as silver fillings, are composed of an alloy of metals with 50% mercury, along with silver, tin, and copper. The presence of mercury in fillings concerns many patients, even though the American Dental Association states that amalgams are safe. At Angel’s Smile, Dr. Bailey provides only composite fillings, which offer additional benefits besides being mercury-free.

Since composite fillings require less drilling than amalgams, they are a more conservative treatment. They are also a stronger restoration, as the composites bond to the tooth. If you are concerned about the mercury fillings you currently have, Dr. Bailey also offers sanitary amalgam removal that protects you from swallowing or breathing any of the amalgam dust generated as part of the removal process.

BPA-Free Composite Fillings

Many composites contain BPA, a material many patients with a holistic mindset prefer to avoid. At Angel’s Smile, we are happy to accommodate your desire for BPA-free restorations. If you need a filling or dental bonding, let us know that you prefer BPA-free composites so that we can select the right material for your restoration. 

Metal-Free Dentistry

If you have a holistic mindset toward dental care, you’ll love our metal-free dentistry at Angel’s Smile. Since we don’t do amalgam fillings or porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) crowns, all of our restorations are completely free of metals. We do feel that titanium dental implant fixtures are the safest and most reliable, but if you prefer metal-free implants, we do offer zirconia fixtures.

Our crowns are made of aesthetic, high-strength ceramics. For back teeth, we typically use zirconia crowns, known for their exceptional strength. For front teeth, we use ceramic crowns overlaid in beautiful porcelain.
